Yes, they are. Talib Kweli lives in Brooklyn. I can name multiple well known rappers who are in the hood and have no problems. The dudes getting pressed invite that energy.

You can't explain nothing to negative and down trodden people.. Its one think to catch a person slipping, everyone breathing has to face that.. But its another level to have people looking for you because of the energy you put out there..

I understand what he saying

basically saying Kendrick doesn’t put out that energy of going on social Media or dissing nikkas in his city compared to other rappers like dolph who puts a target on his back with the beef on social media and on records like many of these rappers and this is the end results either dead or in jail

I hear him but instead of trying to use the flossing to the poor as a means to getting killed it woulda been more poignant if he woulda said to stop being active in street activity once you make it

every rapper “flosses to the poor” but not every rapper gets killed or jailed for flossing but a high % of rappers that stay active wound up getting killed or jailed

after you make it leave that street shyt alone

Why do you think they can't leave that shyt alone?

boys actin like thats an unreasonable summary :pachaha: would be alive if he didnt put out negative energy towards a gang member

same could be said for a few rappers, may they rest in peace

:yeshrug:He right. Anyone who doesn’t believe him, listen to some of Dolphs music. Inherently flossing. The braggadocio and “you aint shyt” nature of hip hop combined with your real life exploits (driving a car through a hood that costs 2+ homes in that very hood) pushes past some peoples comfort zone…and then they get hypnotized with hatred. Anything can happen to anyone, but flossing cats who regularly talk about fukking my bytch, me being a lil bro cause my money sucks, etc and then people who know of you actually having more personal reasons to hate…the aura of arrogance after newly getting out of poverty causes wolves to do dumb shyt to get at you.
