Speed isn't everything though. Why do people buy old E30 BMWs, Air Cooled Porsche, Chevelles, 240z, 70s GT500s, etc?
None of those fast electric cars will have the feel and sound of an old gasoline car. Technology has already watered everything down with electronic steering and no manual transmission. You really don't get the same driver connected to the road feeling.

Yeah but everyone is not a gear head and EVs are a totally different experience of driving that’s why it will pretty much be the standard going forward.. Thry get the same mileage to a charge in the city of not better than a ice car and they getting over 350 miles to a charge on long distance drives...

Gear head or not, You still have the engine sound that can't be beat. No matter how deep you are in the car game, engine tone means a lot. Most folks ain't giving up their slower V6, V8, V10, etc for a faster EV that has no sound.
If they truly aren't a gear head, they not buying a fast EV anyway

Maybe a manual, a 10-speed Mustang GT is trapping 120+mph. AWD will keep the times close, but the Mustang will be running away as speeds increase, at least when stock.
Regardless, I test drove the M340 before buying my Mustang. It was boring.
