For everyone saying he's stupid for complaining about sitting at home and getting paid, what happens when his contract runs out? He'll have to rebuild and re-establish who he is as a performer. He is a top tier in-ring performer and got over as a babyface before he was injured leading to Kofimania. There's no guarantee he'll be as good as he is right now. The pay days will undoubtedly be much smaller because he's not a marquee name anymore because he was a guy on TV 3 years ago.

If they're not going to use him, just let him go. This is why it's fukking stupid to hold these wrestlers hostage when they're independent contractors.

Yeah, breh. I don't get it. From a basic business standpoint, this is them fukking up someone's earning potential. That "I used to work in WWE" bump in business doesn't work the same for everybody. Especially when you aren't getting any kind of serious work when you get appearances. Petty shyt like this is literally just trying to drive an asset's value down so it's not worth much when you're done with it.

If they're that adamant about him sticking around, then they need to find some compromise on a way to use him, then.

Ben Simmons and Harden were making 20x whatever he makes and you see they wanted to get out of their company to go someone new

It is what it is

Pretty bad comparison using those two. If you want a wrestling equivalent of bytch-ass Simmons, it'd be like Vince in 2005 telling Cena he needed to work on submissions and Cena running home, crying, and trying to sit out his contract because someone critiqued him.

This is gonna be a long ass post but nobody's said he's bad for wanting to get paid doing what he loves or whatever narrative folks are trying to twist and pretzel into

For people who are supposedly in their late 30 to mid 40s which is what I imagine most are, you're older than me at the bare minimum. The inability around here to understand anything beyond the wrestler's perspective is incredibly laughable and strange considering adults are supposed to be talking, or you just don't want to because it's WWE and fed bad.

You can't shyt on your boss and employer in front of the world and expect shyt to go your way period. fukk WWE for a second. You can probably do it with a small business but you sure as fukk can't a billion dollar company.

When he hopped on Twitter with his request there were people behind the scenes & no longer employed with WWE that said he's probably not going to get it now because he did that. Why? Because if they give him what he wants they have to do it for everyone that's pissed this week and now wants out, so a slippery slope gets created and they're no longer in control of their business even though the contracts say they are. Going through all this as a company accomplishes what exactly beyond making marks on the internet happy?

You can't not expect punishment in the big boy corporate space doing what Ali's done so why are we outraged he's getting punished in the wrasslin world?

I don’t know man…. I felt I was really on point.

The general gist is all the above no longer want or wanted to be with their employer and asking to be free (by trade or release)

That’s the base

Maybe you can say that for Harden, but Simmons is a mental midget who took his ball, went home, foolishly saw $19 million disappear because someone (rightfully) criticized him.

Only Brian Cage really fits as a comparison because he hasn't been used at all.
Sakura, Kiss and Janela have all been on Dark and Elevation so for the comparison to work with them WWE would have to use Ali on an equivalent WWE show like Main Event or 205 Live.

If you publicly make scene about a company that you work for, do you know what generally happens? You get fired. You're no longer employed or contractually obligated to the company. If you make a big enough scene, then you could potentially blackball yourself from your industry. You look bad. Ali looked bad when he publicly asked for his release. If Ali's unhappiness sparks a revolution where everyone publicly demands their releases from their contracts, then maybe there is a larger problem within the company that needs to be addressed. I guarantee you that won't happen. There are ton of guys happy with their spots and being regularly featured for them to revolt.

Not necessarily and that's where contracts come into play. They can protect the employee and the company, it's just WWE's only protect them. If The View fired Whoopi for talking about Jews the other day that Twitter got offended over, they'd be on the hook for the rest of her salary. Why fire her then even if that's what the social hive wants? Rogan didn't get his contract ripped up for spreading misinformation and a racist past, why? Because of his base and the contract, he's on the hook for way too much fukking money.

Ali's actions would be enough to get him blackballed out of corporate world. Only in the carny world where you can be a "prisoner" making six figures can you be allowed to thrive only because people don't like Vince McMahon.

They'll release him once they see they need to make a cut or two and get the balance sheet looking pretty. But it'll be when they want to, not because he or the internet threw a temper tantrum, which I'm sure is outlined in the contract he signed.

Must be nice being a 6 figure prisoner. Wish I could sit on my ass for 2.5 and not worry about where money's coming from

#FreeGiantSlide

:francis:No sympy for folks bytching about getting paid to sit at catering. Wrestlers are dumb enough to sign the contract, but not smart enough to see the end results when they not moving the needle.

not have to spend any of that income on rental cars and hotel rooms
no bumps to destroy your body
get to be around your kids all the time (unless you're Jericho)

man poor guy, that sounds awful :shaq2:

"...the money and the miles" is always the truth

When did The Coli become a right-wing pro corporate site again?:heh:
