The stage is set for what could be an epic Western Conference clash as the young Thunder prepare to host the Nuggets. The likely MVP against the reigning MVP.

In Oklahoma City, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's meteoric rise has transformed this franchise from rebuilding afterthought to NBA powerhouse, as they steamrolled through Memphis with surgical precision, completing the sweep behind SGA's masterful 38-point closeout performance.

Meanwhile in Denver, the basketball virtuoso Nikola Jokić continues to redefine the center position, averaging a triple-double for the first time in his storied career while he and his squad defeated the resilient Clippers in a 7-game series.

The contrasts couldn't be more compelling: Oklahoma City's youthful exuberance against Denver's championship mettle, the smooth artistry of Gilgeous-Alexander against the methodical brilliance of Jokić. When the ball tips Monday night in Oklahoma City, we'll witness the collision of a rising power hungry for validation against a former champion desperate to regain its spot atop the NBA's mountain.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what the NBA playoffs are all about – where legends are forged in the crucible of May basketball, and history waits to be written.

Nervous for this series because we didn't shoot well last series and we still swept in spite.

Everybody needs to be on their A game. The keys to this series for OKC are:

Consistency... everyone has to play as efficient as they did during the regular season; Chet & Hartenstein both have to show out together; make it difficult for the other Denver bigs. Jokic is gonna get his.

Russ has to be put in jail. He cannot look like the all-star we let go in OKC. Add Murray to this list.

Creating easy offense, not relying heavily on the 3 point shot or SGA & J-Dub to be dominant on ISO. Dort, Cason, Joe, Wiggins & Ajay Williams needs to shine. Wiggins played big in the regular season while J-Dub was out; we need the guy that saved basketball to help get us into the next round. He killed teams with his three level scoring.

If all things pan out, this series shouldn't go any longer than 5, maybe 6 games. I'm going to give Denver respect, however, if the historic Thunder team that was murdering the league during the regular season shows up, this could be over in 4. Not likely though.
