my barber gave me a long story about how he missed our appointment because he went to jail

he calls me 6 hours after my appointment and asks me if i can still come in . He's about to explain what happened, so i stop him and tell him to just tell me when i come come get in a few.

I go there and he says he was in jail for defending his friends girl at a bar because some guy smacked her ass .
On one hand, that'd be a valid reason for me to excuse missing out appointment, on the other, it's a perfect bullshyt reason to cover why you missed our appointment .



I try to be reasonable and give the benefit of the doubt, but he has extra jittery mannerisms and i was skeptical because he recently got sober from a coke problem
i was still ridin with him until he finished my cut. i said "thanks for still gettin me in today " and he said, "yea, just please tip me breh " in my head i'm like " just the fact you askin for tips like that feels dirty ", plus i always tip him 25%+ so what the hell ..... but i just say, "iight i gotchu breh! " and pay him what i always pay him


now i'm inclined to believe he back on the coke just for askin that question

Also, does he do a lot of unprofessional shyt that some of our barbers do like come in late, lie and say he coming to the shop but don't come, ask u to buy food, etc.?

From what I understand, the two things aren't mutual exclusive. I think a barber would be perfectly capable of cutting hair even if they were on coke .It's not like heroine or LSD which leaves them retarded after taking a dose.

Coke is in the same category as meth where historically people abroad used it to stay alert during long work shifts.


The father of the modern American medical residency system was a notorious coke head and an excellent surgeon while on it. The awareness from cocaine allowed him to design a training system for new doctors that allowed them to work 80-100hr weeks during residency.

So if that guy could surgically remove an appendix while on cocaine, then Larry the barber should at least be able to give you a fade.
