Bragging rights

I know the guys I play with, we talk shyt all week about who has the most wins in the week or month. Some guys won't even play an extra game if they lose more 2 or 3 in day to protect their win-loss record. Guys be bringing in ringers just them wins for the day...its so serious where I play at :wow:

Interesting

Would you rather average 30 ppg on a team thats 1-29 or average 1 ppg on a team thats 29-1?

Because technically in all team sports you can still have bragging rights and not be a winner..

T.O.
If you not playing for money then whoever scores the most or has the best dunk/play is actually winning...score is irrelevant if you aint playing for something.
Even then id argue winning in the pros is relative, you can be on a shytty team averaging 20 PPG making 15 mil per season and IMO thats a far greater win than playing for a championship team that wins a banner with no value in the overrall game of life...

:laff: I remember I was at the court, and this team was getting washed. But the winning team got caught slipping and one of them got absolutely shytted on with a dunk. They ended the game right there and kicked the winning team off the court :deadmanny:
Ha!

Dudes used to end games with vicious dunks at my local court (I.S. 320 / Ebbets Field, for my Brookly heads) back in the day, but it was always the team about to win any way.

I was a shorty back then, not playing with the big boys. But I remember playing a halfcourt 3 on 3 and my 6'0 boy getting dunked on by some cat that couldn't be more than 5'9. I don't even remember who was winning, but everybody but my boy was like, "Game!"

Barry Sanders>>>> the 3rd string RB on the '72 Dolphins..

Gotta agree with this. I especially hate when old ass players who are long past their glory days sign with a team, gets no burn or when they do show how :flabbynsick: they are, but when they ride dem coattails on the bench to a ring, act all proud and happy that now their career is complete. You shoulda earned that ish when you were the main man, mu'fcuka. The most recent example I can think of is Mark Brunell backing up Drew Brees and the media telling me he earned it by playing a major role as Brees' mentor :comeon:

Off topic, back in '05 I worked as a substitute teacher while working on my certification. I worked at myriad schools all over the city, and as a sub some days were bad, but some were surprisingly good. Working at 320, however, made me realize that all the black inbred kids in BK must attend that school. The amount of stupid fcukery (as well as the utterly-retarded-in-the-chromosome dispositions of the majority of students there) I saw go on there during the week took first place over any school I ever attended or worked at, and this is coming from someone who graduated from Lefferts (I.S. 61) in the grimey-ass early 90s. By that weekend, I truly had to sit down and seriously ponder the future of Black America lol... :mindblown:

Then I linked up with my boys on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday and couldn't give a sh!t anymore :manny:

How about you use better examples?

Would you rather be MJD or Marshawn Lynch?

Cam Newton or Alex Smith?

Brandon Jennings or Mario Chalmers?

The examples don't matter if you believe in the "winning is the most important thing" "It's all about winning" or "winning isn't everything, it's the only thing" mantras...

Of course winning makes a good career much better.. But it's not the only thing...

The only people that say "I don't care about stats I just want to win" or "I don't care about money, I just want a ring" already have stats and money...The ultimate goal wasn't winning.. It was personal excellence...

Might seem like an obtuse question... But why is winning so important?

With me, I was scared of losing.

Losing is like a fire breathing dragon trying to devour me.I fight with everything I got to keep the dragon off my ass.

It's kinda sick and twisted because if you fear losing, you'd just avoid the dragon altogether.

But that's the rush. That daredevil side have you jumping into the fray just to test your limits.I'm basically a daredevil, thrill chaser when it comes to sports.I wanna be scare4d of you beating me because it brings out the best in me.

Winning alone is just meh to me.....I guess I don't play to win:ld:...I get a rush out of fighting against my fear of losing/failure
