where’s the part when they try to blackmail him lol?

I’ve gotten a similar type email where they ask for you to send them a certain amount of bitcoin or else they’ll email “all the porn” I watch to my family…it’s scam junk mail that came about from me joining a warez site a loooooong time ago…so the email starts off with them telling me the “password” to my email…granted I’ve long since changed that password and now use 2FA…but I know it’s fake bcuz none of my emails are associated with any porn sites much less any family of mine

I'm saying this as someone who works in the cyber security field but cmon yall:dwillhuh:

This is the very next thing you try after the nigerian price scam fails:dwillhuh:

Should you cover your webcam at all times? Absolubtly. But this aint nothing but a low effort money grab, the template is always the same :comeon:

People are sick and disgusting. I hope they catch that weirdo. I thought covering up laptop cameras was a standard practice.

Y'all don't? :picard:

Just disable the camera....
In Windows 10, go to Start and enter webcam, clicking on Webcam privacy settings in the results. Find the switch labelled Let apps use my camera and turn this setting to off. This will affect Modern, Windows Store-style apps only, however.

You can go further by right-clicking Start and selecting Device Manager, then looking for Imaging Devices in the list. Right-click the device, then select Disable to stop the camera from working, and click Yes to confirm. However, note that rebooting your computer or installing an update can undo this change.
