In that case its time to show and prove if he wants an in. Not his field but lets say he worked in cyber security he could sniff the network, escalate then send the CEO an email from himself mentioning how he should employ him then tell him to check his schedule for the appointment he's already booked in using his secretaries credentials.

Thats the script, he'll just have to adapt it to his environment, if he has the skills. Thing is with the field is that its oversubscribed in the areas everyone picks and thus there is a handful of star players that are up on whats really needed. Lots of solid C class coders but only a few A+++ all day who make the pay grade. People training now to catch up are too late because those one step ahead are rinsing the current prospect whilst quietly learning whats next because they work at the cutting edge so its always the same horses leading the pack.

Introvert or not its the network that will get him the placement as he'll know about the script because programmers roll with crews and always pull their team in as that increases their access to information which means they'll be one step ahead again. The firms are also remarkably lazy in upping someone pay unless you step to em because they bank on the programmers being meek and taking what they're given vs any possible anxiety they may feel when saying "Give me more or I leave". Actually I've just had an idea:

Tell him to find a specialist recruiter (the kind that charges a placement fee) and ask him to appraise his CV and chances. That will show him the lay of the land and may just land him an interview because outside of personal recs the recruiter has next.
As someone who's in cyber security, this would get him immediately fired, possibly arrested, and potentially ruin his career.

Who raised you nikkas :dahell:

Just an example to show what gets attention in a field thats quite competitive for those who aren't. Its the creativity they crave. Someone who can think different and does it because then the only thing that matters is results and they'll pay whatever you want to use your skills.

Most of the best in opsec went from black to white hat using a similar approach because it says "I'm indispensable" by way of their actions and thus is an advert itself. Extreme but illustrative of the field.
You in here freestyling and making shyt up :pachaha:

The Truth
Y'all really gotta stop pushing this narrative, especially if you don't have any first hand experience in the corporate world. :snoop:

It's like hearing someone say black people are hated globally and they've never been on a plane.

You can be an introverted, quiet black man in corporate America and nobody is going to bother you. The only thing that matters is if you're effective at your job.

You don't have to tap dance, c00n, or any of the shyt you regularly hear from dudes on here.
I aint pushing no narrative nikka, I lived this shyt:heh:
Unlike you, I’m going by my own personal experience with me being a naturally quiet, introverted person.

When I opened up more, I had better success in my workplace. Doesn’t mean I was cheesin and tap dancing everywhere either.

I just engaged with the coworkers more than I would if they weren’t coworkers

And I do have experience in the corporate world, that’s usually where that bullshyt happened at :heh:

Nobody gave af if you were quiet in military world

Your own post said you're not in the corporate world and the only person experience you mentioned was your cousins.

Now all of a sudden you have all this experience doing big things in corporate america :usure:

Depends on where your friend is getting in the interview process. I do coding interviews at a big tech company and culture fit/soft skills are NOT criteria we're allowed to evaluate a candidate on.

This 'keep it real' nonsense needs to go in the garbage where it belongs.

He shouldn't become a 'completely different person', but he has to show up professionally, aka dressed properly and how you talk with your boys can't be how you carry yourself in these interviews/corporate meetings.

You don't have to code switch or do any of that goofy shyt. More than likely your cousin isn't as good as he says he is. I just got my cousin a gig as a ETL Developer a few months ago and she's only been fukking with tech for real for a few months.

If I had to guess he has a trash resume, basic technical skills, and a poor communicator.

Depending on where in the fed he wants to work, he'll need to have various certifications and possibly need to get clearance. And if he doesn't have the skillset to work in corporate America, he probably doesn't have the skillset to work for the government since they're using similar technology.
I came to say something similar. We gotta break this down. The first part is he getting interviews? If he isn’t then he isn’t applying enough or his resume is trash. Both can be fixed with some finesse.

Then next if he’s getting interviews and he ain’t getting jobs then he doesn’t interview well. First is he meeting the technical snuff? If he’s looking for development positions us he grinding leetcode? Is he practicing interviewing? Is he practicing situational questions using the star system?
