My car runs hot at idle and cools down when driving, problem?

Like when I drive its cool but say I been sitting at a long ass red light, especailly during day time in blazing heat, my car will heat up but usually the light turns green and i drive off before the needle hits red. Sometimes it wil go up during the night, like if im stucc at the jac in the box parking lot, but it will not go up as quickly. The other day when it rained and was like 75 degrees it was cool even at idle. Um i have aintifreeze in but its not fulled up. I just got an oil change. THe mechanic put that little thing on my engine and he said it wasnt reading bacc any codes and that it was fine but he was a cac, they're known for lying.

Some people say thermostat first, then checc water pump. I already got the thermostat.

check the water pump and the hoses . Any leaks?

I had the same problem a while back. It could be those two, or you may need a new cooling fan.

how do you know for sure which one u need

It's your coolant fans breh they are not working....If its been happeneing a while you may already have small cracks in your radiator so both might need to be replaced

at head gasket yall dont know shyt about cars.... Your car is semi cooling down when you drive because the wind you get from driving is "sort of" doing the job your fans should. When you are at a stand still there is nothing cooling your whip brother. Like I said if its been a while you may have cracks you other parts too.

Its what Im talking about breh trust me.... If you park your car while running and its leaking anti freeze (the Green fluid) you have cracks too.... Put your car in park while running I bet you have fluid everywhere and your car will be overheating. Watch

could be this, but is your car shaking when your at a stand still? Is your engine light on at all?

what do you mean cracks and what do i do to fix that?

And i already got the thermostat and the gasket to go with it, should I jus get the fan too?
