My car runs hot at idle and cools down when driving, problem?

not necessarily I've seen cases where when it gets to a certain point your car shuts off, and when you turn it back on, it will be all fukked up. But no smoke necessarily

Im not sure about the proper way to do it breh but I like to touch it with my hands and smell/look at it and I can tell where its from

Could be oil, or it could just be old (dirty) coolant from your radiator which is leaking.


If you're going to check your radiator coolant make sure the car hasn't been used in a minute, or else you could get fukked up.

this nikkas best bet is to go to a shop and have them run those test that i recommended, they'll tell you more exactly wtf is goin on.
any nikka with experience with cars knows that a leak in the cylinder head is not always easy to find with common symptoms .

I had the same problem a while back. It could be those two, or you may need a new cooling fan.

This happened to me breh.
I can't remember what they did to fix it but it's now fixed.
I had that fixed last year.
I think it was a leak in the antifreeze or some shyt

at head gasket yall dont know shyt about cars.... Your car is semi cooling down when you drive because the wind you get from driving is "sort of" doing the job your fans should. When you are at a stand still there is nothing cooling your whip brother. Like I said if its been a while you may have cracks you other parts too.

Its what Im talking about breh trust me.... If you park your car while running and its leaking anti freeze (the Green fluid) you have cracks too.... Put your car in park while running I bet you have fluid everywhere and your car will be overheating. Watch

Or it could be the water pump not moving enough coolant at idle. It's 2 ways to check look at the water pump to see if it's leaking from the weep hole or listen close to hear if the bearings are going on it.

The AC blowing hot at idle and cooling as you drive says it could be a lack of airflow which would point at the fans.
The leak after you turn it off is condensation from the AC.
