Thanks. I don't know what causes it but I know it came in throw the vents. It happened years ago in a townhouse in NY. I was pretty young when it happened.

Comes from things that burns gas iincompletely

mine went off one time, got shooked real quick and called 911 and waited outside in a freezing night

firemen entered the house and their detector quickly went off the scale

turns out my heater's exhaust was blocked

they shut my gas off and I had to hire someone to come in and clean the chimney then get the city to come back and approve it before I could go back in


but on the plus side I'm still alive

You know it's easy to kill someone in that way. You just go to their house at night and block their exhaust vents. They'd be none the wiser and die in their sleep.
