I posted before..............NYC and metro has been banging under the banner of west coast gangs openly for over 20 years. and dudes out here were/are overdoing it. I thought you and your man saw that first hand growing up in Harlem...before you even lost touch with each other. I thought seeing how it enveloped this area that you would be less surprised by your friend's heel turn knowing that he was in Cali.
