Condolences. finding solace in simple things while grieving is the best form of therapy. Hope you treasure that memento and it brings nothing but pleasant memories of Your Pops.

Not Alzheimers, but my dad died almost five years ago from a similarly debilitating and horrific disease. I know the harrowing pain you're going through and although looking back at old pictures, conjuring up old memories in your head, and reminiscing of simpler times with him will likely invoke tears and heart-wrenching emotions, hang on to them. It's always important to hang on to those things. In time, things will get easier, but that void will always exist, and those memories and tears will come flowing back from time to time.

But those are only reminders of how much our loved ones matter, and undoubtedly, cherish those times you did enjoy with him. Some people aren't as fortunate to have had a loving father in their lives.

Rest in peace to him and I wish you peace in your life as well.
