As a parent, I would not want any teachers trying to indoctrinate my child into voting the way they wanted. I rather that discussion be left up to the parents of the children. Teach the children reading comprehension and mathematics so they are able to understand the issues and make informed decisions for themselves. Do not sit there and tell children how they should be voting, because that is not a Teacher's place to do.

Telling children that will soon be voting aged how important it is to vote, and understand how politics will affect them both directly and indirectly isn't propagandizing your children.

Kids SHOULD however be taught how policies impact day to day life over time, I definitely remember social studies teachers in high school going into that kind of information

We had voter registration drives, and I gave bonus points for those that actually registered. As a teacher, it’s not my position to tell you who to vote for, but rather why your vote is important, and the sacrifices people made so you could vote.

They learn about the Citizens United case that allowed for huge amounts of money to be donated, what project 2025 is about, and the effects of having no real checks and balances when one party controls all three branches of government.

Only thing I told them on Wednesday and Thursday is work hard to be the change they want to see out here. If you want our political outlook to change, you have to be that change. Don’t lose hope on the future because of a lost election.
