I been here for almost a year now. Most of the things said are fairly accurate. I think it's a great place to raise a family. But there are better cities for bachelors. Good job market depending on the type of work you do.

Whoever said boring downtown was right tho. Coming from the east coast I still don't understand how or why that shyt is so dead.

All in all its a cool place. Not the best but u can do much worse

Downtown is boring but uptown and a few other neighborhoods are poppin, plus Fort Worth can be cool too and it's not far

But yeah, pros are:
-Good cost of living
-Lots of economic opportunities
-Really nice neighborhoods
-Good social life (restaurants, bars, etc)
-Fine women everywhere

Cons:
-Traffic
-No beautiful natural scenery
-Lots of vanity, conceit among the young professional crowd

I live in East Dallas. Curious as to how Dallas isn't diverse. Statistically its a top 10 diverse city in the US. Nowhere in the world will be London, LA, NY, but a place like Dallas or Houston is next. I'm too old for clubbing, but if you want to eat, shop or do family stuff there is lots to do. Cost of living is cheap. Easy place to raise a family. The better looking areas or in Dallas proper or south. Lots of good looking women. If you want a big house in the burbs, its not that hard to pull off.
