Get disclosure from the da office yourself. And work out the deal yourself.

If you think your going to represent yourself in a criminal case, your only practicing for when your gonna be in the prison law library working on your appeal. Judges used to be lawyers, and no matter how good a legal argument you may have, they will still find a way to throw the book at you just to protect their profession. I've seen judges become the second prosecution for pro-se defendants, pulling out ancient law books and case law to find a way to convict despite a good legal argument. Get a public defender and try to scramble up the bread for a real lawyer in the meantime.
