My oldest friend found out he had a 15 year old brother when we were in our late 20's
He goes to his lil bro house to meet him in person one day, pulls up and his pops was over there laid up chillin smdh.

I think he might have kept it low about the half brother, but seeing his pops was still actively with the other chick, was what made him tell his mother and other brother. Lowkey I'm sure his mother knew, her husband was old school, took care of home worked hard, she never wanted for anything, but he stayed out a LOT and it didn't' feel like they were still intimate.

Thats some real old school stuff that transcend cultures. When the man is really moving and shaking and taking care of home and family, and the wife and kids feel protected and secure, then the man may step out from time to time. And the wife will know, but he and she will have a "agreement" without an actual stated agreement of sorts to keep it on the low. Happens big time in the islands. A big shot dude with a family goes to XYZ town and starts another family, but he has the income to provide for both. Everyone knows what's going on, but the kids. I'm not saying it's right. Infidelity is always messed up when you take a vow. You could just stack your money and be a player without selling a woman dreams, marrying her, and having kids and putting them through all that drama. But then again, back in those days, I'm sure getting married was way more expected and culturally enforced on Ppl. I can see why a man who was probably reluctant to get married young and was really getting to the bag, would let his ego get the best of him and step out. Many times the wife knows, but as you said, he's handling business, so she keeps quiet for the kids sake and for keeping the "normalcy" of the family unit intact. The situation gets really hairy when he's a bum and he's stepping out on family.
