I think Leone left the ending up for the audiences own interpretation

I think one interpretation is Noodles’ opium induced dream; a mixed of both reality of some events that took place and then some a nightmare/dream that Noodles dream while high in the opium den

Like the whole garbage truck scene. I wonder if that is all some of what Noodles dreamed


The rape scene is very disturbing and brutal.

I think one do the main reasons this movie isn’t compared to The Godfather 1 and 2 is because it’s a 4 hour long movie

If it was broken up into 2 parts, I think the comparison between the movies would be far more

I remember reading Leone originally wanted the movie to be 6 hours long

So it had to be like midnight, I turned to this shyt, and it was entertaining so I kept watching. This was on either TNT, USA, or one of them channels so with the commercials, this shyt didn’t go off until like 5 I was like what the hell will this shyt ever end? I didn’t get to sleep.
