i need a closer shave than my clippers plus they irritate my skin.
ive been researching traditional shaving for a couple weeks and this seems like the most cost effective way to start out

I use a Merkur razor and a variety of blades; I have Derby, Gillette 7 O'clock, Wilkinson Sword and Feather blades.

For best results you really need to be shaving daily to minimise bumps. I find that if I get lazy and let it grow out for a few days my razor bumps flare up again.

Tried bevel again for the second time right around Thanksgiving. Face looked good for about 7-8 days then that shyt went downhill. Works for some, didn't for me. Rocking the beard for now.

If I need to shave, I'll use clippers going with the grain

If I put a razor on my skin its a wrap in about 3 days, but for the 3 days a nikka is flawless.
