When people say old school I think of Ultramagnetics and shyt that's mid 80s or earlier. But OP said 80s babies which I am (82) and he posted 90s classics so I followed suit.

Yeah old school is before 1986, then by 1987 we seen the first glimpse of the Golden era, going full force from 1991 to 1996 then slowly dying with Tupac and Biggie. 1997 to 2000 we seen a few keeping it alive but shyt was officialy over in 2001. 1987 to 2001, 15 years of excellence. We had a longer run than most music genre IMO.
