My grandmother hated indians. Hated them. But when it came to the white man, her vitriol was more measured. I always called her out on it. You want to know why certain ignorance is passed on? Punk children and grandchildren that don't want to ruffle feathers. I have a cousin who married a white woman. I didn't go to wedding. I brought that up to say, my aunt claims she hates white people. Yet here she is inviting a white woman into her home.

If racism is passed on from older to younger, why is it a stretch to believe that conforming is passed on from elder to younger?

I've posted the story a couple of times about when my grandmother told me I had to work 10x as hard as a white man. I was around 6 and I told her I wasn't having any of that. I depended on this lady for my life and I knew enough to say I rather die than continue that bullshyt train of thought.

And as much as i want to believe that, I need to look at the evidence... my grandma is the lightest one of her friends... which drives me crazy when she on that color shyt

But all her friends living are dark af... which means either her friends was c00ns or she was just kicking with people who accepted her for her. And tbh my grandma is more black then mostly anyone I ever met.

My fam earned everything they got... same reason I went out and got my own. It means mixed with either French, Spanish, or Portugese.

My family on my dads side is Creole and as a kid I used to catch hell for being dark. My dad was the only non "c00n" of them all. They have serious issues with color.
