Upping this because I was looking for a thread on athletes and HBCUs, hopefully coli brehs who missed this last year will check out your podcast with Coach Moton who is one of the MEAC's shining stars
What i want to throw in is I really want to see a push to get top Black athletes to consider HBCUs, even if its a movement that has to start at a grassroots level. I'll focus on basketball for the sake of the argument. 2 things needed:
1) you have to have a powerful advocate like Coach Moton who has NBA connections and influence among a few contemporary players that you can sell to these athletes
2.) we need a generation of student athletes who are willing to sacrifice and be trailblazers so that kids coming in 10-15 years can enjoy the kind of world class facilities they cant. Im not naive enough to think most HBCU facilities compare to a lot of these top ranked institutions, but thats part of the problem we dont have the patience to build anything if it means we wont get to enjoy the fruits during our time. Im tired of seeing these PWI's win
