That thought did cross my mind but I think I'll be cool

Everyone before me on my team was working remote anyway except the other dude in the building with me

And they do get a lot of tickets

If I do get let go it will be because of the economy and not this

I’m been remote since 2019.

They just recently sold their space downtown. Some of the floors became apartments

Whatever you do develop a workout routine. I got fat as hell when it started

Pros and cons

Invest in a lot of nice pj’s
Only con is visibility so promotions and raises are a little slower if you don’t draw attention to yourself constantly.

Can your role only be done in the US?

I'm leary when companies start selling buildings.

Seen way too many roles here get sent overseas for cost savings.

Yeah, my company sold its huge building, and now there’s only like 100 of us still in the US, and thousands overseas. I wouldn’t be surprised if they got rid of us too.

I think I'll still have a job, because everyone but me and another person works remote anyway

But I'll for sure be on a timetable

I’ve seen the arguments for hybrid or in-office and they’re weak vs the benefits of remote work. I’m a tremendously better Engineer now due to the time saved by remote work.
