You abandoned an entire language because of a single issue? C is too low leveled and Java is too verbose.

I strongly recommend go

Ha naw I didnt abandoned it but it's just needed for a small part of my code base. It involved linked list and pointers for memory optimization.

A lot of people have been talking about go, it is in the list if things I need to cover

That's what's up brotha. How far a long are you with your progress? Are you a programmer or is it something you are learning?

I'm progressing but taking my lumps as well. I'm trying not to use google to find answers for certain things and just relying on what I know so far and learning through my mistakes.

@PikaDaDon has given me some good info that has helped a bit as well

Im in a job where i do light shopify coding.... its entry level but im trying to get into more of a web dev role

im pretty decent with JS and React but I feel like the backend is holding me back so i want to spend a few months focusing on PHP/laravel... there's also a shyt ton of PHP jobs so i think its the best move

  • Did some brainstorming about what I need to do for my goals so I decided that I need to build a website to showcase my projects. Going to begin that tomorrow hopefully if time permits.
  • Started going over data structures and algo's as well to help with some coding challenges

  • My job is currently in the building process of improving our security and monitoring stack and I have been tasked with the assignment so I havent been able to touch any frontend like I wanted to.
  • Implemented the elk stack a long with prometheus and this weekend i have to work on the system design to show my team. Hopefully I could work on my side project this weekend if I have time

  • Finally had some time to start on some front end development. I have my home page set up but it isnt online yet. Still playing around with the html and css syntax and testing my code on different browsers

  • Decided that I'm going to rotate days between working on frontend web development and working on algorithms and data structures. So today I watched some videos about algorithms and cracked open

@Cereal_Bowl_Assassin how did you like The Holberton school and how was it price wise and job placement. There's one her in New Haven,CT i was thinking about joining opposed to continuing the self taught route. Only because i think it might look better on the resume and for the connections they have.

Honestly I loved the @holbertonschool. Because of them I have had so many opportunities that have helped me get to the next level. But at the same time there have been other students that havent been so happy with the school for various reasons. For me my expectations from them was just to give me the fundamentals to get my foot in the door and that was exactly what I received. Some people imo wanted their hand held, different teaching methods, and other things.

But the school is free until you get a job above 45,000 and then they take their cut out of your check

If you want more info hit me up...
