The title says it all. Many times, it seems with any kind of press I'm doing.... after a while the right arm is still pushing but the left arm is like :heh: nikka please.

What can I do to decrease the difference in endurance between the two efficiently?

Stop doing dumbbell exercises and do barbell exercises or use exercise machines where both arms are taking on the same resistance.

isnt even just with dumbells.

Happens most on bench press. Then flies and shoulder press.

shyt even when i use the machines, my right arm can still go and my left arm will struggle when pushing. Pulling however is no issue.

:rudy: Using a barbell is going to mask it even more

My suggestion: use DBs, drop the strong side reps, while keeping the weak side as is. Check your form as well, really pay attention to see if you are cheating on your strong side to push the reps out or if you actually need the other side to catch up

Use your weak side as a gauge for progress, no sense in getting stronger on one side if the other is still lagging

video tape your sets if possible :manny:

as another person said in another thread actively think about the muscle you are targeting and it may help

but yeah DBs can improve your imbalance, its good to cycle between BB and DB periodically especially when heavier weight is involved

That's why most of my workouts are based on dumbbells...my left arm is actually stronger than my right now. The only body parts that are different in size really are my calves.:pachaha:

Yep. Especially the video part. Seeing yourself in action is a huge way to help fix errors.

Can't lie I heard "hold me back" by Rick Ross when I read the thread title

I've been thinking the same thing recently as well. My right arm is clearly stronger and bigger than my left arm. So I'm starting to do more dumbbell exercises and let my left arm dictate how much I'll do with my right arm to hopefully balance things out.
