My bro (15) acts too white and its a cause for concern. He has white friends,Goes to a 90% white school and listens to rock even talks like a white dude.


Nikka bought a guitar today and i asked him do u got any black friends he said nah i don't hang around with black people.

Hanging around with white people too much might cause him identity crisis and make him soft.

How many black ppl are yall around in general though? Seemed like you were posting alot of non blacks in that post ya roster thread. Is there enough blacks for him to kick it with

Theirs alot of black people. I Dont want lil man becoming lost. Like losing his culture,values and stuff. and you know if a dude hangs with white people he obviously gonna be attracted to white chicks exclusively.

If he's at 90% white school 5 days a week it makes sense he's acting the way he Does. Just like if a white guy was at in a similar position going to a 90 % black school. You gotta spend extra time with lil homie and give him some lectures here and there. At 15, he's still trying to find himself, hopefully he don't become 100% product of his environment. Does he like black girls? Do you ever test him out on some of his preferences?

While I'm not condoning chastising someone for "Talking white", in regards to "don't hang out with black people", trust me that every dude like that eventually get their negro wake up call sometime later in their life. They don't even have to go through something explicitly racist as they will just slowly realized how they're treated different because of the skin color in the most subtle of ways.

Show him Hidden Colors; bring him around the family, take him to black businesses and show him you supporting them(take him to eat at a black owned spot; buy your goods from black owned business, etc). Also, take him to spots for black youth(Boys and Gil's Club; courts, etc).

Don't shove it down his throat by telling him to embrace his blackness, but instill that value by showing him, and what's above is just some of the things to demonstrate that.

also most kids like that often realize they the odd man out when they start tryna go everywhere with their white friends and get singled out or excluded. Or their cac friends start slipping in front of them saying suspec shyt and they see what up

I went to majority white private schools most of my life and while I didn't think I was acting white other black people would probably say I was and all of my close friends up until my last couple years of high school were white. I think the main difference between myself and your little brother is I think I was a little more conscious of myself when I was around them maybe due to my dad (he came up in the south during civil rights). I think for the most part I turned out ok but my parents sending me to a public school the last two years of high school which had a larger black population was a big factor bringing in some balance. If your parents have no intention of sending him to any other schools with more blacks then the only thing I would suggest is maybe get him involved in some community causes/groups to help him get more comfortable around his own people. Having white friends is cool and all but he needs to the know the importance of being a positive part of the black community.
