It wasn't even like that in the mid-2000s peak :unimpressed:
I may be talking out of my ass about big law but as far as IB, once you get past your first year as an analyst 100% of base as a bonus is not uncommon. Even the middle performers are looking at something like 80-90 base and 75-85 as bonus, which is close enough.

How much do you earn?

It must be different in IT, because if you're in a revenue generating position in other industries(sales, invenstment banking, law firm) if your bonus is not at least 100% of your base salary then the company (rightfully) considers you useless.

Yeah IT is a cost shop not a revenue shop. You'd be lucky to even get 15% bonus in IT.

Unless you work for a software company whose job is to actually sell/distribute their product. Even then only the devs would be considered revenue generators
