Went to a multicultural school since kindergarden

Schools always had Black teachers and more importantly Black male teachers

Never dealt with these issues, feel bad that no one sat down and talked with her before putting her in that environment

i couldnt imagine going through that as a parent or lil kid

the white kids prolly dont even know better

the white kids are completely oblivious to how the black kids are experiencing the very same classroom a they are.

the white kids see white as a universal default and everything else as "other", everything they learn in school reinforces this way of thinking.

this is too stressful for a lot of Black children and causes them to act out and simply not want to be in that environment even more stressful when their home environments are dysfunctional.

I'm just saying: if you really want to be in an all black neighborhood then be in one, but don't act as if all problems are non-existent once you're surrounded by black people. That's not reality, and I'm sorry that you love putting African Americans on this pedestal of greatness, but hate to confess of their weaknesses, and if you do then they're in result of what the white man has done.

I'm just too old to be playing that game, and way too smart as well. So whether you're black or white if we don't get on then we don't get on, and there is nothing else to say.

Umm...you do know you can live in a black suburb with good schools right.

this is why we need our OWN schools.

her parents provably think they're doing her a favor by sending her to that school because I'm sure she's getting an excellent education there, but she's also learning to hate herself.

soon she will stop complaining outwardly and begin to internalize the self-hate.

Black kids are better off being home schooled for a few years so they can develop a healthy love of themselves before integrating them into a school where "white is always right"

I believe more kids (especially black kids) should stick strictly to home schooling. I'm a product of America's mediocre school system and I've learned more from the internet than I did from institutionalized education.

Oh and before you say, "Well going to school develops a kid's social skills" be aware that school isn't the only place in the universe for a child to learn socialization skills. There are home schooling networks across the country where home schooled kids can hang out with other home school kids and go on outdoor trips.

this is a interesting situation, and i dont think any of you have answered adequately to the situation.

we need better answer in here, because not let your children mingle with "cacs or white devils" is not the answer, and also homeschooling your black child secluding them from the world and not letting them experience life or not sending them to a "good school" isn't also.

so we need better answers, we try so much to never make race a factor and forget what happened. but it's still not working. our kids still will question it.

i think it's time to start being real with our kids, even though it's going to be hard. we still need to find a way to effectively be real with them but at the same time not rob them of their innocence. that's a hard task to complete.

Can you please take the time to research home schooling? It pisses me off how so many people have various misconceptions about it. Home school doesn't mean you lock your kids in their bedroom all day and force them to memorize math formulas. It's much more than that.

We have that, its called AFTER school. When your kids come home, you can teach them the greatness of the black race, to be comfortable in one's skin. Nobody's stopping Mom and Dad from doing that. Parents need to be able to instill these feelings and help them, with the schools, grow into successful minds who are aware and conscious of their own race.

Most parents are lazy and/or too busy to even do that because they have to constantly work to make ends meet. They'd rather delegate parenting to the government -- who trains the kids to sit still all day and take orders without question.
