Almost all of the New York tranplants I have met over the years have been hilarious. Brehs are just naturally funny.
I can co-sign this.

That said, I also find older Black Southerners to be naturally funny too. Some of the shyt I've heard older relatives in the South say had me in tears and they weren't even trying.

I’m saying. Triple Fat Gooses where the shyt in Pittsburgh too. We got that from NYC.

To be truthful in Pitt we kinda sharked our style from NYC/Philly and a select few bummy choices from the Midwest. Ohio area. From what I could tell we did not really have our own style :mjcry:

I remember once when I was like in Jr. High I went to this suit store with my Mom and they had fukkin' Polo winter jackets for a decent price I had never even seen before. If I asked she would have gotten it for me but the fact that they had them and I had never seen anyone rock this particular style of jacket made me question their legitimacy. It would be like way worse if I got some fake shyt then non descript winter jacket I was rocking. So I passed. Like next winter everybody had them shyts I was sooo tight. But that's how deep the ridicule was you can't be taking chances. lol

I wore a pair of Lee's to school one day. Got the leather tag ripped off by an upperclassmen in Jr High. Then him and his boys sang "Shout, shout, Lees are played out. These are the things we can do without."

I legit shed a tear.

You have to be funny to some degree growing up in NYC. Too many people got jokes ready to unload on whoever for absolutely no reason. There were so many times at lunch in Jr HS and HS when we would have snapping contests and take turns roasting each other. If you got in the ring you better be ready with the ha ha's or else someone is gonna bomb you in front of an audience that you gotta finish out the day with.

In NYC humor is a sword and a shield.
LMAO Faxxx:russ:

Growing up in middle school and HS you HAD to learn how to roast or nikkas would put you on the hot seat!

Dudes on the side would act like Ray Charles pretending not to be spot out....nah b you next!

The jokes was coming out like fast food platters...had the whole crew geekin like

As New Yorkers we are natural wordsmiths our ability to get roasted made us stoic and endure hard times.

Northface was popping way before that but they did only sold them in stores like Paragon & Tent and Trail before the were in “urban” retail stores. The full length black goose downs were in for a winter( Kane had one on in Lean On Me video), that style of coat was first made by Pacific Trail & that brand was mostly sold in A&S and Macys. Columbia had a run as did helly Hanson and Gerry G. Those brands are grades above bum ass TFG.
we ain't shop at Macy's b

north face got poppin because of the hood

My mans said Macy's, nah fam. Uptown heads hit Fordham, 3rd Ave, 125th & sometimes 181st in the Heights for gear. And you would go down the Lower East Side by Delancey and all those side blocks to get coats or dress shoes.

my parents from dominican republic they didnot give a fukk about brands or sneakers or any of that no matter how much i explained to them. i even told them i would rather have one name brand article of clothing than alot of cheap or fake shyt for the same price lol. it was ruthless in school.

You come in with some off brand shyt and it's a wrap. First day of school is the worst. I remember when the Bo Jackson's dropped. Jordans were already a thing. My pops got me a pair of Jordache kicks. I got clowned hard. I got clowned for wearing Chucks. It was ruthless.
