come to west coast breh, for the women, weed and weather

i would but it's hard for me being a out of state transfer student who wants to attend a CC for a year. you need 60 credits for Cali schools and they need to be reviewed by local Cali CC's or you won't get in. at the end of the 1 year i will do at CC, i might get 51 credits.

Go for it, I'm a Comp Sci major but shyt you do in class is not really related to developing applications used in the real world

how is the math ? do you think somebody who sucks at math can get better with tutors and shyt ? i know my homie cousin sucked at HS math and got better in college and was a engineering major.

Do UAlbany. Solid state school. And you're doing a STEM which is good for you. I don't know what your plans are after graduation but I wouldn't bother paying out of state tuition to go to any of those schools :mjpls:, those degrees don't travel far tbh

Computer Science or maybe Business Administration

Truthfully, I'm always going to push HBCU; I went to one. You said you want to major in CS or Business Administration; why not Major in CS and minor in Business Administration, you schooling is being paid for, take advantage of that, get all the undergrad degrees you want. The reason why I say that is because you can open up your own business; developing software and other stuff, you will graduate with 0 debt, which is excellent. Don't have that mindset that I need a job to support myself, create one for yourself

I do not know the parameters of your scholarship; like if you have to work for the company for x ammount of years, because they paid for your education or your free to do that you want.

Personally I would lean towards howard and hampton; the PWI's you mentioned are probably going to be 3 percent black and 2 percent are college athletes. I had homies that played D1-A ball at large PWI's that loved the school becuase they were treated like gods, because they played sports. On the flipside I know catz that went to PWI's that hate the school; because they were treated like shyt.

I know this is a lot of typing/reading; but at the HBCU you will go through a lot of bullshyt; the bullshyt will prepare you for the real world, if you take hold of what they teach you. I went through a lot of bullshyt at my HBCU, but I met my mentor that put me on game about working in the science field (majored in bio, minor in chem.) and the bullshyt your going to encounter and how to handel it as a black man and not a sell out.

Plus at an HBCU you will see black women everyday; which is nice.

I would go more in depth about racism in the UC and CS schoo system in California (I'm from LA); but this is a lot of typing for one post. The racism is heavy at UC school for black men; unless you can dribble or catch a ball.

i might go back to community college and transfer. these are my options, mind you that when i am done with CC i will get a scholarship from a company that will pay my tuition, fees, room and board for the rest of my undergrad career.

my in-state options are :

1. UAlbany
2, Stony Brook
3. University of Buffalo
4. Hofstra
5. SUNY Cortland
6. Devry University in NYC

my out of state options are
1. Howard University
2. Hampton University
3. NCAT
4. Tuskegee University
5. JCSU (Johnson C Smith University)
6. UNC Greensboro

:ehh::ehh: what you brehs think ?

i would have added some UC or Cal State schools but it's hard for a out of state nikka who wants to transfer after a year to get accepted. :mjcry::mjcry:

For the local colleges and Universities, You would have to go to Stonybrook or University of Buffalo

1) Stony Brook ----> Has the most prestige in the Northeast
Plus its reputation in computer science is excellent. However there's not a lot of black people. That may catch up to you mentally.

2) University of Buffalo-----> Good reputation, respectable in computer science ( I know IBM recruits there). More black people so you won't feel to alone. I think the numbers are 11 percent at buffalo. And 6 percent and Stony brook.

When it comes to the out of State University

Howard ----> Gives you a really good alumni base to use. Not sure if it's as good as NCAT. Only go to Howard if your boss is paying for this. The debt might not be worth it, if you're paying for it.

I probably go to University of Buffalo. Over Howard and Stonybrook.

Devry University in NYC :usure:

Edit: If you can get into the IVY League GO FOR IT. Screw any of the Universites you posted. If you get into Columbia, go and never look back. Columbia is the perfect school for a black person. ( good black population), plus a fantastic alumni base.

what other HBCUs would you recommend me to and is NCAT or JCSU good ?

in my my scholarship i have to do internships for them while in school and then work for them for 2 years.

i know that's a big thing i like about HBCUs, where they can educate you on how to deal with shyt as a educated black man. i would like that experience to be honest.

and the Black women at HBCUs i heard were :noah::noah: status. and i heard a lot of them HBCU sistas like having natural hair, and are awoken. :banderas::banderas:

I did a quick google search for top hbcus with good CS programs and JCSU is ranked.

Best Historically Black Computer Science Colleges and Universities

With that minor in business administration; it will help you move up (possibly) in the company to an management position. But the main thing is too learn and memorize (memorizing is the key) everything about your job and even other individuals jobs. Just stack your paper and learn; while in school you can fix computers and stack more money. Be about your paper.

There are some nice sisters there and there are some hair hats and some women that are still sleep; it varies. But the decision is up to you; if you can get to MIT and are confident you will perform well, shyt do it.

:ohhh: thanks for that advice and yeah also the company gives me paid summer internships to one of the 3-4 locations where the company is located at. i might choose to work at the one in L.A. but it's in/near South Central tho.

MIT would be a great school to attend :banderas::banderas:

i feel like you can possibly wake up a sister if you show her facts and examples maybe. :jbhmm::jbhmm:
