I think the creepy dudes (who probably approach high #of women every day) really ruin it for the normal, respectful dudes, so if you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the creepers.

If the first words out the guy's mouth is about my body or is sexually natured, that is uncomfortable for me if I'm not in a party setting. If it was one or two statements every now and then from guys, or is short and respectful, it doesn't weigh on the mind- but the collective impact of getting sexual comments consistently and sometimes aggressively for years feels bothersome. I shouldn't be delayed or interrupted several times while trying to get groceries (and wearing a fake ring), getting gas, walking my dogs, or commuting to work. Each time, I have to stop what I'm doing to make sure that I politely respond to the remarks (you never know who has a few strings loose and I'm also southern) and then feel awkward knowing that they were looking at my body like its cake.
I think you may be looking at trying to define committing harassment based on a single comment (your experience with that woman) and I'm looking at it like it is part of a mass of comments (my experiences with unknown men approaching me in public places ).

Woman do you know what figure of speech means?
