My parents divorce affected my views on relationships

We absorb and learn from our parents the relationships we emulate... but most of the time the world will enfluence you whether you have good role models or not to emulate in similar fashion...

For me I choose to stay single until the time is right. alot of my co-workers got kids and shyt but they call me selfish I'm struggling by myself and rely on myself, but i will pull through by myself... when you got kids depending on you that's a whole nother ballgame and the pressure to succeed is harder. I'm not up for that until financially i am ready to take care of children. Alot of people suffering because they want to have massive amounts of kids and wear no condoms...

But yet they call me selfish cause i only want to take care of myself. someone answer that shyt...

if you can't look at relationships without the glasses your parents gave you then you're doing yourself a disservice and making anyone who wants to take you seriously in a relationship work much, much harder than they should

It definitely has. Makes me a lot more cautious and patient when I'm dating someone. The women who want to tell the world and Instagram they are in a relationship are quickly put off by this, but w/e.

My brother went to therapy for it. He's still not completely the same since then. It came out of nowhere and up until that point obviously I knew what divorce was, but just didn't think it would happen to us.

Both of my parents were married for the majority of my childhood so I know what a good relationship looks like, but going through what I went though, I never want to put my kids through something like that if I ever had anything.

The whole long-term marriage thing is kinda meh to me now. About 70% of kids from broken homes aren't even long-term marriages themselves.
