incorrect. if it's totaled, they will give you the value of the car. most times people will NOT be able to buy a new replacement with the depreciated value of the totaled car.
don't let it be a car that is upside down on the note, you might end up coming out of pocket to pay the rest of the note unless you have gap insurance!
