I grew up in houston and my mom had this weather alarm. If there was a tornado near my county the bytch would beep like nothing other. She'd check the doppler on the tv and if it was bad i'd have to sleep in this bathroom in the center of the house. My dad's from oklahoma and that place has show me what a tornado can do
Now I live in SW Fl on the coast and i've only ever had hurricane issues but those things are just exciting. If some super jumbo was about to hit i'd just dip. we have plenty of warning and i'f I hide in a closet i'm far enough away from the beach that i'm not going to get storm surged and drowned
any houston brehs here go through allison? remember getting that flood of refugees after katrina

. We had a dranage ditch behind our house, but my backyard had a slope. So my dad picked up day laborers and together they built about a 3.5ft wall in my backward and filled it in. the water came to my neighbors back door but we had a practical moat around the sides and sandbags in the front.
they said allison was a 500 year flood in my area
