The Truth
NY just not ready to change and evolve into something better. I like ASAP but it won't be them that puts NYC back on...

in fact, NYC is so worried about "Being on top" instead of making good ART. Like take the beats for example, most nikkas still want that sampled, dark, alchemy BS when you got nikkas like MikeWill, YoungChop, DJMustard, etc., from all over being creative, different, and new WHILE also doing there thing in their own city.

Atlanta is a MACHINE musically and has been that way since I could remember. Other than mainstream NYC music, most of Atlanta radio consisted of ATL music and that never changed. They don't give a fukk if their music blows up nationally for the most part, if it blows up in ATL thats all they care about. But in the south, most cats didn't bump NY music like that. Look at Texas, Louisiana, Atlanta, Miami, Memphis, etc., They all had they own music/styles even during the NYC days and nothing has changed really. The music from those areas have evolved, but they still kinda do their own thing. And NY is just one state. The south is many states where many people can relate to the music that out no matter what southern state put it out

When NYC was "on",how many "singles"driven producers were there???

Thats not what we do...

Besides the trackmasters, swizz,DIDDY and Irv when he had his lil run with JA...

And 3 of the 4 producers I named have the musical ear to give you above average albums..even though they had blatantly "commercial" joints

NYC is a rapper driven city....

Young Chop and these cats aren't going to give you a foundation to create quality albums....

And thats what creates longevity for any region....Quality albums...

Thats what I try to tell people about the new york music in terms of difference in relations...

Bronx and Brooklyn are two different worlds and they like an hour and a half apart...

7 times outta 10,a Harlem nikka aint listening to M.O.P. because them nikkas are on some unpolished,I'll steal your metrocard shyt, while Harlem nikkas are more flamboyant...even when broke:lolbron:

Atlanta and Texas is more similar and they are miles apart...

There was a time when 50, Nas, Jay, and Cam were on top of the game. But none of them liked each other.

They do not understand New York and boro to boro{even interboro} differences
And I try to explain how deep the shyt is

They dont get that you can take the 6 bus to 155th st and if you make a right and walk 20 blocks your in the Dominican motherland and if you walk 20 blocks to the left your in mostly black territory{pre gentrification}

50,Jay,Nas,and Cam all come from 4 different environments with 4 different styles...

This is what I try to tell people..NY nikkas were always going at each other...

from Jeru vs Biggie/Puff

Ghostface/Rae vs Big

The Mobb and their beefs

Terror Squad vs the Roc

Dipset vs Nas

Dipset vs the Roc

NY nikkas are just like that....And that had no effect on musical quality

Define failing. Sure nikkas not on the radio, but the game is moving past that. Rocky's hot, Bronson eating, Joey got him a lil fanbase, Zombies international, Shirt international, Jay still one of the most relevant rappers today, Nas still has shine, list goes on.

damn i just really read what u posted thats some real shyt breh

Its REAL because its based on situations I've experienced PERSONALLY

In my ten plus years of management..the artists who madw THE WORST BUSINESS DECISIONS were made by my NORTHERN ARTISTS..... :noah:

For example i met a rapper from up north at a college in georgia back in like 01

Dude was the illest lyricist i ever met in person.

so i brought him to the Boss of the production team i worked for

the boss and the whole squad liked his shyt

only one problem ...THE RAPPER HAD NO SONG STRUCTURE

THE BOSS and i both knew the boy had no hooks and his music was.too dark to market here in the South

so.my job was to provide artist development for this "RAPPER"

Unfortunately ....THE RAPPER didn't wanna conform his style

:comeon:

After realizing me and the BOSS wasn't gonna push them little DARK A$$ GRIMEY beatd.and rhymes

he asked for his MIX CD master recording back

i said fine ...u give me 100 dollars and meet me at a certain. club and u van get your master back

homie never showed....he byatched and complained

and even slandered me calling me SUGE KNIGHT JR. Which explains why i go by SKJ :manny:

but everyone on campus knew i wasted time and money trying to put him on

Nicca had no car ..i would take his girlfriend. to class when he dropped. Out to become a security.guard

even paid his electric bill.

but yet I'm the DEVIL cause u don't wanna at.least try to marketable but yet you gave me your MUSIC without. a contract

What a dummy....

the second IDIOT is from New Jersey she begged. me to sign her

I didn't want to cause like THE FIRST DUMMY. RAPPER she is another one who DOESNR makr marketable music

the byatch sounds like a female version. of PRODIGY

everything is MURDER...MURDER..MURDER

but is actually a married mother of one daughter

She WANTS ME TO GET HER A MAJOR LABEL DEAL

I'm trying to convince her to REMAIN indy.....and build her intenet presence

she do have a.little buzz

but she does.dumb shyt like hand out features. for free to artists who got budgets and deals on the table

so i got frustrated and realize THE GAME IS TO BE SOLD NOT TOLD

cause i tried to ENLIGHTEN. her for free

so just last month i convinced her to sign over the rights to.her.music and trademark. her name for merchandising

As of this week i will clode a deal with an intellectual property. rights company allowinng me to vollect digital royalties. on youtube and all streams.of her music gloabally

and to think she did.this without even recieving an advance

its like robbing a bank without a gun

but yet I'M THE COUNTRY. BUMPKIN :russ:

And the irony of it is I WOULDN'T THINK OF TRYING the SOUTHERN ARTISTS like that

i know one southern artist who came with paperwork and INSISTED. on me openining a credit.line to help him incorporate his JOINT VENTURE with me!!!! :damn:

This little country. fukk was ginna hustle me lmao

but I :salute: him cause he was about his business

just like my street team byatch from Augusta ga...this little heffa wanted me to pay her commision just foor PASSING OUT.FLYERS and posting INSTAGRAM PICS

LMAO

SEE THE POINT I'M MAKING....SOUTHERNERS REALIZE.ITS BUSINESS. >>> CULTURE

Lets look at all the hot atlanta rappers out
future who came out under freebandz/rocko
young scooter who came under freebandz
wacka who came under gucci
and other ceo's like ross, and birdman and other (drug lords) who put out young atlanta artist.
They get alot of funding because they have OG's with money.

In new york when NY was popping
it was jae hood and sheek under d block
jr writer juelz jim 40 cal cam under dipset
fab under dj clue
tru lyfe under roc
terror squad had their movement too the point is they had OG's like Camron, jada , fat joe and others putting our protogee's its the same in the south but now

FAT joe
Jadakiss
Irv Gotti
&Camron who if they didnt have beef with 50 would have had more money and would have put out 5 to 6 artist each by now, i lowkey think 50 is the 60 -70% cause new york is failing he took money out of the major camps.

40 Cal!? Fab!? Jae Hood!? is this post from 05? fukk outta here nikka. Don't nobody care about them nikka's in New York. With the exception of Fab. fukk that getting put on, old school mentality. Kid's out there with they little 5d camera's, laptops, pro tool setups, shooting editing, and putting out there own shyt. Getting 1,00,000 plus views on Youtube. It's a whole movement happening in NY that's not validated by radio or mainstream culture. Go to 285 Kent, go to The Knitting Factory, or Santos. These show's sell out, nikkas have to actually build a fan base before they can come out and take over the world.

Radio is a numbers game, it's financially based and when your dealing with Clear Channel you have to pay, it's just that simple. They can play nikkas here and there but they have to stick to format. That's just what it is. Radio is extortion. It pretty much works the same way. That's why ASAP is successful, cuz he had money behind him, That's why French is successful he had money behind him. There are a buncha dope young creative artist out here doing it. The problem is nikkas arent paying attention and writing everything off a being "Weirdo" "Hipster" etc. Radio is just out of touch. I actually think New York is ahead of the curb and it's gonna be some dope shyt to come outta here in the next 2 to 3 years.

These are just little nikkas telling there story. Flatbush Zombies aint no different from Africa Bam at the end of the day, Wasn't them nikkas wearing spike helmets and shyt. That shyt was "weirdo rap" basically. Them little nikkas sell out every where they go tho. So all this Mitchell and Ness era logic is retarded cuz nikkas (Action, Pro Era, Smoke DZA, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, Mr. Muthafukkin eXquire, Troy Ave, Black Dave, Bodega Bamz) are out here doing it. People just fail to acknowledge the movement going on and boxing nikkas up/writing them off before they get a chance to shine.

TRUTH

Outside of southern music, I mainly listen to artists from the east coast and NY right now got a lot of cats doing their own thing and grinding.

Every ones writing off these artists because of how they are grinding, for instance.. ASAP in the eyes of people on here are industry plants? could be.. they got some connections.. for instance Yams interned Diplomats records.. Yams studied the game and treated the game like a hustle, stacked up his money and knowledge and used his connections and built relationships, and used these blogs and shyt on the internet to get their music and brand out there.. there isn't anything wrong with that, imo. It's using the tools that are available to you. We live in the age of the internet, why not use it's advantages?

ASAP Rocky went from little freestyles in living rooms and battles with his friends to playing New Zealand, Australia, all over because Yams knows how you can't just be thinking local and that its a hustle. FERG doesn't even have that much "hype" and shyt but hes on tour right now and been selling out shows in decent sized venues.

NY gotta a lot of artists doing their own thing, on their grind and putting out some cool music right now, but because it doesn't sound like some 90s-00's throw back people seem to play like they don't got nothing going on which isn't true lol

But Cam was quick to do that 'Bout It' Remix tho :pachaha:

I dont see Cam benefiting from doing a remix to a song that popped off years prior...Mind you Master P was washed up at that point...And that sound was nowhere "hot"at that point..Cam had tracks with southern nikkas already so they knew about him...

Jayz hugging on to Jermaine Dupri,Juvenile,UGK,is a whole different monster....

Camron doing cookies and apple juice would have been a better example....

That shyt was:damn::sadbron:

Oh shyt, I almost forgot about 'Cookies & Apple Juice' :dead: .......But I think many NY artists started to align themselves with southern artists simply for economic reasons and to deliberatley expand their fanbases.

They began to realize the strength of the buying/sellig power in the South. It made sense to do so
