NY just not ready to change and evolve into something better. I like ASAP but it won't be them that puts NYC back on...
in fact, NYC is so worried about "Being on top" instead of making good ART. Like take the beats for example, most nikkas still want that sampled, dark, alchemy BS when you got nikkas like MikeWill, YoungChop, DJMustard, etc., from all over being creative, different, and new WHILE also doing there thing in their own city.
Atlanta is a MACHINE musically and has been that way since I could remember. Other than mainstream NYC music, most of Atlanta radio consisted of ATL music and that never changed. They don't give a fukk if their music blows up nationally for the most part, if it blows up in ATL thats all they care about. But in the south, most cats didn't bump NY music like that. Look at Texas, Louisiana, Atlanta, Miami, Memphis, etc., They all had they own music/styles even during the NYC days and nothing has changed really. The music from those areas have evolved, but they still kinda do their own thing. And NY is just one state. The south is many states where many people can relate to the music that out no matter what southern state put it out

him cause he was about his business

.......But I think many NY artists started to align themselves with southern artists simply for economic reasons and to deliberatley expand their fanbases.
