I should have elaborated more, my bad I have never seen it used as a racial slur
I couldn't find an instance online where it was used as a racial slur either

Basically, Indians called themselves Redskins, cac's started calling them Redskins, its all good

I'd be cool with that as long as the Mascot is either Jesus, Cleopatra, 2pac, Biggie, Left-Eye, Alliyah, Freaky Ty, Trayvon Martin, MLK, X, Jesse Jackson but not Al Sharpton, Mike anyone Tyson, Jordan, Jackson, Nelson Mandela, Eddie Murphy in Zamunda, One of dem Black Panther nikkaz, Spike Lee if it was for a little league team, or Lamont Sanford

FSU has permission from the Seminole tribe to use their name and everything else. They even helped authenticate the costume of the mascot and his horse. Members of the Seminole tribe get to go to FSU for free.

Does your black skin offend you? The name Blackskins wouldn't be offensive but any dressing up or black face by a person who is not black would be.

The name Redskin is not a slur.


I can see how people dressing up and painting their face as offensive, but NA seem to allow it or let it go in some cases look at FSU, The Fighting Sioux, and the Fighting Illini.

I was just saying the FSU logo looks sweet and they should switch, I knew seminole was a actual indian tribe but that design looks too sweet compared to schools like clemson, alabama, washington, etc
