I think dude will continue to grow to maybe 6'11-7 feet tall and he will transition to power forward. He will soon find out that he will never possess the offensive prowess of Kevin Durant or the athletic ability of Lebron James. He will then transition his game into more of a post-up type and work on his fundamentals. Dude will be Duncan 2.0.

He's far more athletic than Duncan, and is already listed as a PF. The Sixers want him to be a pure PG not even a Point Forward. He's too fluid and natural of a passer to play anything like Duncan.

He'll never be strictly a post player, he's already smoother and a more skilled ball handler than Lebron. There's no shot he'll be limited to playing off the ball.

His game is sloppy as hell. Offensively he is very, very basic. People are saying, "wait till he gets his jumper" but as it is dude barely has any creativity or ability when penetrating either. He tries to do the LBJ straight line drive but lacks the explosiveness and usually gets closed off, at which point, he kicks out for a pass. He doesn't have any counter moves to set himself up when that drive gets stopped, and while his handle is tight for 6'10" he doesn't know how to use it to break down defenders. LeBron at 18 was legit 100x more offensively advanced than Simmons right now, and a better shooter to boot.

When he DOES manage to have a successful drive, he's a surprisingly WEAK finisher. He's one of those players with a robust physique especially for being a rookie, but he gives me the "big for nothing" kind of vibe. He doesn't really use his strength to impose his will on anything. He's afraid of contact on drives and prefers to go finesse, often settling for these weird 1 handed hook-floater shots instead of jumping into the nikka's chest. He's a pretty poor finisher thus far through SL and hasn't show me much of any ability to adjust in air and make impressive lay-ups.

When he gets the ball on offense, you can tell he looks like he wants to score, but doesn't know what to do. While passing is instinctive and natural for him, scoring is not. It's very apparent that he's thinking of what to do and this usually results in overdribbling, sloppy, ugly post-ups, or shut-down drives, which eventually end up in him passing. He tries to be flashy with almost every pass he throws so people get so caught up in the flash that they don't realize it's the 8th possession in the row where the number 1 pick got clamped by some guy who was playing in Cairo this past year.

His jumper is trash. And he has zero confidence in it, to make matters worse. It's Summer League and he's the number 1 pick. He literally has nothing to lose. He's not fighting for a contract. And even then, he's still afraid to take jumpshots against the defense. Pretty much all the other big names drafted after him have had at least 1 if not 2 offensively impressive SL games where you could see the flashes. Even Buddy Hield who is shooting like shyt out there has shown me he's going to be a capable scorer and is waaaay more than just a shooter like many declared.

That being said. He's an incredible passer. It's natural for him, it's like he's got 360 degree vision. He's a great rebounder. And he's big and athletic. He has a skillset that's pretty rare in the league meaning that even if he doesn't pan out he's still going to be on a roster as a contributor for a long time--a la Lamar Odom and Iguodala. But right now, he's NO superstar.

Imo, the passive lack of ferocity is because he is a euro.
Your analysis of his passive pass under slight duress was on point but that is a factor from being a euro. or, eurk being my buzz word for describing any non-America born and bred player.

Imo, the non-domestic game is so built on being bball IQ heavy.
It never makes individual players develop that ferocity.
or what's called that dog in them needed to succeed in north American domestic basketball. Imo, thon maker has more dog in him than Simmons as a scorer and been shooting elbows and aggressive position established head butts or threat of head collision to anyone in his way alternatively. I will admit Simmons plays like the black league YMCA yba kid. who they told to pass away from defenders and not endure any contact as good basketball.
to get them ready to play for racist white bball IQ based coaches. When in the nba, the players who make it.
are the ones who rebel against that aesthetic and have some reason or variable.
as to why they are allowed or will themselves to succeed.
Simmons plays like the neutered black guy coached by some white cat who runs a catholic school team. that takes away the players ability to score.
All cause they want the floppy haired white guy to be the star just because.

that's a valid point. Well simmons is australian if I'm correct, but yeahhh see the problem of european basketball school is that their game is based on what the coaches tell them to do, they work mostly on fundamentals, while american basketball works on individual part of the game much better.
Most of the european talent that get drafted to the nba realize that their individual game is zero in the league that has lots of freedom. These kids can't create their own shot, they can't dribble, they need a coach to draw them plays, and this is why lots of european talent come back to europe after a few seasons. No athleticism, no individual game, no ferocity.
In the league where as a guard you have to dribble really well most of the european guards can't do shyt, it's so terrible that majority of european countries invite athletic guards from america to actually play for their national team, giving them nationality and all that, it's that terrible. Some 5ft10 american kid is out there beating their defenders with their dribble and scoring bunch of points, sometimes even leading the scoreboard.

that's why we see most of the time nba teams drafting some 6ft11 big man from croatia or france hoping they find a mini-gasol or mini-dirk, but they end up in nba looking like a kid who's left home alone for the first time of his life.
