Some people make New Year's Resolutions and a lot of people don't.

In my experience, the people who don't make resolutions fall into 2 categories:

1. People who think they don't have the discipline to achieve them.

2. People who are too cool for school. They think it's corny or cliche and just won't do it to go against the grain, or they have no desire to grow or change.

It's no secret that most New Year's Resolutions fail.
But so what?

Most goals fail. Most businesses fail. Most athletes fail. The point isn't to focus on the failure. The point is to keep trying to better yourself. Keep trying to grow. Keep pushing.

I would encourage everyone to make a New Year's Resolution tonight. You don't have to share it because that's not the point. It's not about flaunting it to others for imaginary daps and pats on the back.

The majority of people could actually accomplish their new years resolution by picking something small that can easily be accomplished. Don't go overboard with it or choose something that will require a lot of work or effort.

For example, mine is being a better public speaker, which will be manageable to pull off considering the opportunities I have during the year to improve at it with the work that I do.

what if you just don't need an arbitrary date on the calendar to set goals for yourself?

Then forget that it's December 31st and make a goal today because what better time than right now?
What better day than today?

But if you wanna come up with more what ifs, do you.

New years resolutions are pointless. Why wait for the start of a new year to set goals? Just do it.

I think it's great to give a theme to the new year. Just need a way to keep in at the front of your mind.

Never believed. I've been working shyt I needed to get done since late November. Like a few other brehs said... just set a goal and do it. Imagine I know I need to get shyt done and say "let me continue slacking until January 1st" nah we put here making shyt happen when it needs to

I want to get better at public speaking. What would you suggest?

New Years Resolutions are designed to give people false hope and motivation that things can change for the better.

If they do, it's because it was simply meant to be.
