My thoughts on the "but your stronger" arguement

For the record I am against domestic violence of all kinds.

It seems as though people who preach that a man should never hit a woman always take it to the extreme and say even if she hits you first you still shouldn't hit her. The number one reason they like to give is " your stronger than her".

This makes no sense. It is as if they are saying that there should not be any consequence to negative actions and bad decisions because of that persons condition. If she knows that he is stronger then she should be the main one trying to prevent anything physical from happening.

Wrong is wrong, and wrong doing should not be excused because of the condition of the wrong doer. For example if a broke person steals from someone who is filthy rich, the rich person has the right to retaliate . To say that the rich person should just walk away and let people steal from him because he has way more money is absurd.

I probably wouldn't hit a chick if she hit me first, but I damn sure am going to put on SOME kind of display of strength. Maybe a bear hug, maybe snatch her by the arm.... something so that she realizes just how bad it could actually get for her if she keeps poking the dragon.

I never said anything about hitting her back. My problem is with the message of that it's ok to assault someone if they are stronger. And the message that it's ok to let someone assault you if they are weaker.

I've never hit a woman, but if she's holding something, like a bat or a knife, then at that point, it's fair game, and she's catching a hook.
