Turns out something kept waking the damn thing up. I forgot what it was but I disconnected it and everything went normal again

Plenty of devices can turn your tv on automatically. My Nintendo Switch turns on my tv AND my receiver automatically and even switches the input to the proper one automatically when I put it in the dock.
