So those are two places I could've lost it and I didn't examine the wallet when I put it down when I got home. It's a metal wallet with the money clip on the outside so it could've dropped during one of the times I switched in and out of street clothes but its never happened before.

Bc you said this, just let it go. Maybe ask if they saw you misplace some money—-that way they don’t clam up at being accused. Or let them hear you looking for it….or announce to everyone that you lost it and have everyone start looking. Kids being kids will get scared and ‘find it’ for you.
