imagine dating her.. you listening to love like whoa on the way to the date tryna brush up on her career then she tells you she been celibate. your whole heart drop into your stomach but she so fine you gotta keep up the act. soon as you get home you gotta look up her KING magazine pics and get busy. smh.

Y'know, I was thinking about Mya the other day. I surmised:

- Mya is where I draw The Line for success as a female artist/songstress.
If I sat down and made a list of her greatest hits (and I did), she has her name on some songs that did very well,
but they are not necessarily songs that I get excited about hearing. And she is a great feature artist, but it's like
the songs she features on are better than her solo songs.

Being fair - I know she's kinda been sabotaged in The Game, so that has affected all she got to put out.
IMO she never topped her first album, but that was when she had some direction too - she wasn't so independent
as she seemed to be after.

...or maybe it's just that I am not a woman so I can't relate to her feminine maturity and growth, or some BS like that.

- I can summarize her career with this one fact:
on her first ever single, she may have written the best lyric ever:

"up jumps my butt / nicca what? nicca what?"

How do you top that?

Fine as a MF.

But still weird as sh*t.

Without saying too much, the "industry" really f*cked her up, mentally.

I first heard of Mya in the dayroom at Ft Lee. We were watching BET videos and her video came on. "it's all about me" featuring Sisquo was the vid and I thought she was fine. I was a huge Toni Braxton fan at the time, but this was a chick around my age(I'm 2 years older). I bought her first 4 albums. The 3rd one came with a free calendar that I still have to this day.
