Myspace was a pretty decent way to discover good music.
I'm not sure any artists really got big off Myspace, but I remember listening to a couple of cool no-name bands back then.
I miss having music on my profile. That was revolutionary to me, I was 12 when I first started using it.

Before MySpace, the computer labs at my high school only had geeks

After MySpace, the computer lab was the third most poppin' place in the school

:to: Had my first back and forth argument with a girl over MySpace...she left me and we were "still friends," but, I got pissed when she tried to hook me up with her friend....fukk YA FRIEND, I WANT YOU

:mjlol: I was too young to fully utilize Myspace, the peak internet for me was Mocospace. To me, that was THE PEAK of social media where females literally did whatever you texted them if they liked your pictures. I got so many gifs from girls twerking in SpongeBob boyshorts, naked twerking to maimi bass and underground club records (like that one song with that bytch singing to the I'm Sprung beat). When I copped my first car I drove to so many teen black women who just moved out they parents crib, or the teens that used to sneak out and have you pick them up at a 'neutral' location. Used to get head in the car just hours after I met her. I can't count how many one nighters I had.

:mjlol:I still remember how tight they p*ssy felt. Nothing like black PYTeen p*ssy. Black girl p*ssy will never get that tight again. That shyt used to have so much grip. And nothing compares to a black woman in the bedroom. Nothing. When you dominate a black woman in the bedroom, it hits different. Nothing comes close to the feeling of when you stroke a black woman into being submissive.

yup.. promoting back then was amazing.

facebook at the start had similar dope social skills that could be use for business if people were tapped in like that.

Example:
Facebook when you created an event (a party as example) you could invite all your friends, so if I had 5k friends, I could hit select all and it would invite them all. Rather they came or not, it didnt matter, it was great way to get eyes on an event. This later got reduced, and now I believe is completely gone to my knowledge.

Another one was Facebook had a calendar you could open that had everyone birthdays, so you could look at the calendar for the month and tell people to celebrate their birthday with you and you'd give them a comp champagne, etc or take care of all their friends. Packing clubs was cake walk then.

Funny how more popular social media became (becomes?) the less actual social it becomes :ld: I mean some of these things needed to be put in check for spam purposes but I aint hear any complaints :manny: if people didnt fukk with it, they unfollowed you :manny:

Honestly, Instagram hasnt really innovated much since the DM (which isnt really innovative, since private messages been around a long time prior). Stories/filters like snapchat really aint add much to the platform if im being honest :ld: Social media kind of stagnant
This is a good point actually. I remember Facebook being used to organise parties, network with other students etc.

Around 2007 to 2010, it was really good. At some point they introduced tabs and then they started to bury the functions used to actually network with people behind other shyt. I don't think Facebook messenger helped either.

By the way,

Didn't Tom sell Myspace for like $500M and then it wound up only being worth like $5M a few years later once Facebook took off?
I thought I read something like this.
I remember Justin Timberlake copped and flipped it. He said he was gonna use it to showcase independent artists, but then he sold it for a profit
