A young Chicago mother and her father were found shot dead at their home - after her toddler answered a FaceTime call from the woman's worried co-workers while playing in his diaper near their bodies.
Javonni Jenkins, 27, and Curtis Hardman, 79, were discovered Wednesday morning around 11am in their home on Drexel Avenue located on Chicago's southside neighborhood by police who were conducting a welfare check.
Jenkins son managed to answer a FaceTime call from colleagues at the medical center where Jenkins worked. They'd grown concerned after she didn't show up for work, and one coworker - Nicole Worth - dialed 911 on requesting a welfare check after the toddler answered in his diaper.
Worth told the Chicago Sun-Times she were immediately spooked after realizing the toddler appeared to be on his own, with no adults in the vicinity to care for him.

Curtis Hardman, 79, was also found deceased. The grandfather was found shot to death
Details on how and why Jenkins and Hardman were murdered remain scant and confusing. Cops say both were shot dead. They added that the killing appeared to be 'an isolated incident,' and that there was no danger to the public.

But there was no indication that the two killings were the result of a murder-suicide, and loved-ones did not suggest there had been any issues with Jenkins or her father.

No suspects have been arrested, with cops yet to offer further detail on what they believe happened.

Chicago Police has been contacted by DailyMail.com for further comment.

'He had no clothes on, he was just in a diaper,' Worth said, 'There were no signs anyone else was around.

She knew at that point, 'something's wrong,' and contacted the authorities and that is when she soon learned her friend was dead.

'She doesn't even have an enemy in this world,' Germaine Owens, who is a cousin of Javonni, said. 'For somebody to take her life, you've got to be some demon or monster

Friends described Javonni as a girl with a 'heart of gold' who 'wore her heart on sleeve

Javonni, whose mother died when she was a baby, had an unbreakable bond with her father, who raised her, friends say.

Friends say she loved being a mother and described her as a girl with a 'heart of gold' who 'wore her heart on sleeve and a beautiful individual.'

Hardman's daughter, Angela Brooks and Jenkins stepsister, said her father was the type of father 'every little girl dreamed of,' Chicago Sun-Times reported.

She said that she 'never heard my father have an altercation, raise his voice or get upset,' and felt certain that whatever the circumstances of their death was, 'her father died protecting my little sister. He was a hero,' she said.

Hardman's son, Curtis Hardman, said his father was always present in his life and always told him how much he loved him.

'For every graduation, from preschool to graduate school, he was always there,' he said

Definitely someone they knew. If murder/suicide has been ruled out, it was either a robbery or a boyfriend.

Bizarre reporting and I’m sure absolute garbage public statements from police.

RIP if they were both murdered by someone on the outside, I hope this wasn’t a murder-suicide, and if so - RIP to the victim only.
