I remember when they had that mall shooting (at the mall on the westbank - Oaksomethin) the weekend before Christmas - mofos cited how the shooter waited for the dude he had beef with to finish making his purchase and exit the store before he popped him so that he wouldn't catch unnecessary bodies.

That type of $hit - dude was a killer and boiling mad but still mindful of others lol

Some hoods have the whole neighborhood/city bad. While I know places that get a whole bunch of shootings, robberies, etc but 90% of those crimes happen on the same couple blocks over and over again while the rest of the neighborhood is perfectly safe.

I think people and this thread are confusing the “your hood ain’t no harder than mine” sentiment with every hood is the same. Those are two different statements.

I like watching "The Real Streetz..." series on YouTube. Goes hood to hood all over America so you can see how our people are living.

It puts in perspective how COMMON certain issues/mentalities are from hood to hood.

When they say the same, I think they mean certain rules are followed universally. Like
Don’t go to certain parts if you don’t know anyone, don’t wander around at night, don’t look at people crazy etc.

Me and a couple of buddies in college would road trip often down to New Orleans. Depending on who we was with, we would do pits stops in Jackson where some of them had family or in McComb or Magnolia where I had family.

nikka, I’d be in South Jackson, MS., pull up at a corner store with hella nikkas outside, them nikkas would mean mug me tf down when I got out the car like I was straight food......

Then proceed to open the door for me, then open that bytch up when I walked out like I’m some female.

And don’t ask for shyt.

And be like “ya have a good day now.”

shyt would have me so fukked up everytime.

I’d get back to the car checking to see if everything was still there, check the rims, check the bumper, check the paint.

Hoods in northern cities are more ruthless to me. The hoods in the south - southern Bros just cannot shake their "southern hospitality" culture. No matter how gangsta they get lol.

They're definitely not Punks or pushovers, but southern hoods are generally more digestible and their gangstas aren't as quick to adopt a "scorched Earth" mentality

You need to get out more. You just used to northern hoods so it's the "norm" to you.
