^^^Absolutely. Some people had “cant go past this block” rules (or maybe we all did) but eveyone just went wherever they wanted to as long as you were home before the streetlights.
Remember there were no cell phones or tracking or anything, and kids played outside so it was rare to go over your folks crib (no video games and too old to play with toys)
I was raised in 80s. By 90s we at least had video games
I graduated HS in 93....I’m born 93 and I grew up like this in the 2000S
No cellphones just a bike and my dreams
Also didn’t realize most of thecoli was so much older![]()
How long did it take for everyone to notice that drugs were becoming an epidemic?Yes
It was a time where a lot of parents was getting addicted to drugs
It was huge in my area in LA in the 70s and 80s where kids was out doing anything they want
From what I heard yes. I grew up in the 90's (preteen and teen years) and we were always outside and I mean OUTSIDE!
We'd leave the house and be gone for hours without anyone knowing where the hell we were.
We didn't come back until dinner time or the street lights came on. It was survival of the fittest
exactly, growing up in small town your parents may not have known where you were but if you were acting up that news would get there before you could put the key in the lock.Yes. I’m 38 (born in 86) and use to have freedom that kids now don’t have.
I trace A LOT of it back to families staying put for years in one place and everyone growing up knowing each other.
All the adults had the authority to “police” us if they saw us outside acting up even if your parent wasn’t around.
