N.X.T. Moving To Wednesday

Following the big news that WWE Smackdown is movingto Thursdays starting in January, many people have been asking what will happen with WWE NXT on the WWE Network.

NXT already airs Thursday nights at 9 pm EST, with a new first run episode also airing at 4pm EST. Variety was the first to report the Smackdown move, and their article also included a quote about where NXT is going.

Michelle Wilson, WWE’s chief revenue and marketing officer, announced NXT moving to a new night with also happen, and it will be moving to Wednesday nights at 8pm. Wilson told Variety that NXT’s weekly show and live specials will move to Wednesday as a result of the Smackdown move.

It was also noted that even though photos of production trucks (featuring graphics mentioning the Smackdown move) surfaced online, WWE needed to delay the announcement in order to straighten out the rest of their schedule.

WWE Smackdown will move to its new timeslot on January 15th. It is assumed that NXT will move the same week,
