I spent a few weeks up there about 7 years ago. Its pretty much what you probably think it is- Hipster Central and lots of white people that are only liberal because their aren't any nikkas around.
Outside of the Albina area you not really gonna see alot of us. And I dont know why but damn near every chick I met up there that was Black was mixed or really really light skinned. I could see why white folks love it so much tho. I'll pass on it

Rundown:

-hipster ground zero; not many black folks which means no culture or black clubs/ happy hours
-everyone and their mama bikes everywhere; they have "bike valets," brehs.
-everyone is in shape
-cuisine is "clean" (fresh as shyt)

Nike is in Beaverton which is about 10 miles away. Unless you are purposely going to the Nike headquarters you'll never see any of those lavish buildings. No reason to ever go out to Beaverton.

I had a friend who was a contractor at Nike so I got to go on the Nike campus. I even saw Michael Jordan's office. It was empty at the time.

Portland's ok to visit, but in general, the Northwest is not for us, period. Don't be black driving through Oregon.
