I don't thing anyone that mattered called him goat. Federer is too accomplished to not be goat but the flip side of that is Nadal is too accomplished and won too much against Federer to not be either. They are literally 1a and 1b. If Nadal matches Federer in slams, there's nothing that you can say to give it to Federer. The few majors Nadal is behind isn't enough of a gap to just give it to Federer when Nadal has that record against him.

How many times did Fed get punished for being the 2nd best clay courter in the world? Arguably from 2005-2008. Four FO final losses.

Had Rafa been good enough on hard courts to meet Fed in the US Open finals those years, that head-to-head record would look much different as Fed could have returned the favor.

LOL @ Nadal being 1b

Sampras and Djokovic >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Nadal
Sampras is not better than Nadal.

As for Roger, he is the GOAT with Nadal on his heels
Nadal 9-3 in Grand Slams
Nadal 12-7 in Masters
Overall Fed 20-17 Slam wins

Fed needs 2 more and he should be in the clear. Not sure if Nadal can get to 22 with his body breaking down.

Fed won one on clay? That's a big fukkin deal and mark against him, Nadal leads head to head. Fed has 3 more majors but if Nadal catches him or even comes within one I think u gotta say Nadal the GOAT.

Clay is a garbage surface. Nadal only has six majors that weren't on clay. That is why Novak is put ahead of Nadal by some, including myself.

Clay is not a garbage surface.

Have you actually played on crushed brick? That's a trying surface to play on because the first bounce off of it will sap most of the velocity and speed off the ball, you can't just muscle it and hope for winners..nevermind if you get someone across the net who's crafty and use varying degrees of spin.

I've literally fukked my back up trying to dig up this one bytches constant underspin shots on clay where the shyt barely bounced up a couple of inches. Y'all be saying shyt to be saying shyt.

Atp created a fake ass Edberg meets Sampras phoney in Federer.
when they changed the best of fourteen format to push the older guard out.
Then, pulled this while fake ass marcellos Rios bullshyt clone garbage, nadal.
Basically used the same rules to flodge result weight and use the old claycourt season results.
like it should keep you atop the rankings. From an early start.

Thus giving fake ranking and precedent.

Then, from there the game went down this slippery declining skill slope. Where only these two underskilled phonies in nadal and federer get precedent falsely benefitting from a rule change.
To basically pulled age discrimination on the older guard.
Watching tennis now is watching a remedial declining skills based sport. All those pros are huff as fukk, men and women side.

I watch that shyt and see trash on court anytime and turn the channel.

I could beat all those pros real talk at forty one and i been doing some thinking about the shape I am in and being out here in the south.

Men's tennis is a joke.

Even mentioning federale and ho-doll like some greatest anything.
let alone goat is an asterisk based misnomer.

Yeah right. Nadal is the GOAT Clay court player, no doubt. But ATP slowed down the surface of Wimbledon and US Open to appease Nadal

Go look up the speed of those courts in the 90s when Sampras and Ivanisevic played, fast as fukk. If Nadal constantly loses to Del Poltro and Wawrinka's hard hitting serves and forehands, what makes you think he'll win against Sampras?

Nah. He's pulled this move his entire career. The second Nadal looks like he's about to go down 2 sets you can be sure he's gonna start limping and wincing.

ok genius....why didn't he pull that against Novak at the 2015 French Open or against Berdych the same year???????? He lost in straight sets to them and never called for a trainer.

So why would they want to appease Nadal? Tennis starts and stops with Nadal?

The style of play was changing. The big serve and big hitting game was dead. It started with Lleyton Hewitt

Look at Murray, Djokovic, and Nadal. All play similar styles of each other, with different variations. Of that 3, only Djokovic to me is more versatile and can play in any era, thank God he tweaked his style of play so he could be able to last longer and not injure himself more

No one's doubting Nadal's clay court dominance. But no way he would win Wimbledon, US Open, or Australian Open in the 90s and early 2000s
