lol this is like 10 mins away from me. The old shop was even closer. My girl and my mom got their hair done there at the old spot.

They said the quality isn’t the best but they do get you in and out cuz it be like 2-3 African aunties working on your head at a time.

The new one stays packed, parking lot be full and overflowed into the Michael’s next door.

They saw Cameroon and their mind automatically conjured up all sorts of violent jungle imagery about primitive Africans pulling hair too tight..
If you can't instruct someone working on your hair the problem is you. Youre literally there to tell them what you want and done how.
Are you really getting upset that I don’t like them braiding my hair? Does this really offend you? :pachaha:And where in the hell did you get violent jungle imagery and primitive from? Your rude ass

Y’all are wayyyy too sensitive on here, lol.

FYI, people from Cameroon are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with you though. Maybe you’re Nigerian. Y’all the only ones I’ve met that be having those shytty attitudes. Not all of you but definitely more so than other countries.

Wasn't her hair salon the reason for the boycott?
:jbhmm:
Was it? I thought she made an apology video. I didn't find it sincere, but thought the effort was cute, I guess. (Lisa Cabrera said a video later came out showing her mocking an AAVE accent on a phone call. I just heard that though, like two min ago, I havent yet confirmed.)

I find the thread timing suspicious. Let me find out Miss Nadine got a coli street team. :pachaha:

:picard: Nikka, what? Please realize, you're the racist here. "Violent jungle imagery"??? Who even says that, weirdo? I don't even think that kinda shyt. No nikka, they been pulling edges out since the 90's. We tried them a few times when I was little and went back to our og FBA braider. You not gon disrespect me in French and then pull out my edges on top of that. :mjlol:

:jbhmm:As an aside, Black American women have a particular hair culture. (Not sure if it's a diaspora-wide thing, could be.) We traditionally think it's bad luck to let somebody who don't like you do your hair, like, bad juju. Your hair will fall out or not grow. Now we finding out en masse that they really don't fw us like that. With that in mind, the fact that they legit do be braiding too tight, thereby causing the loss of vitally important edges, that was a bridge too far for many of us.

According to our cosmology, they lowkey been cursing us when you really think about it. They committed a MAJOR FBA taboo.

I hear you, but I used the same language and terminology people who call Africans booty scratchers use..we know what this is, no need to sugarcoat it.

Yes, it's a response to poor customer service. We didn't realize it was endemic because we're so pan Africanist, the possibility never even occurred to us.

We just thought that's how they were (standoffish, hard handed), but no, alas, they've been doing it bc they don't respect us.

Lmao big up Nadine and the aunties them

I personally do all my own hair braiding myself because I'm fully cultured 💁🏾‍♀️

Much respect however for the business model I wonder why no one else was able to successfully initiate and pull this off, its like a McDonald's Drive Thru for braids!
